Justin Hawkins

Justin Hawkins joined Williamsport’s News Talk WEJS in September of 2013 as an in-studio producer and as the co-host of the Locker Room Show with Ian Catherine. A native of Montgomery, Justin graduated from Montgomery Area High School in 2010. While there, he was the executive producer, sports reporter, and anchor of “The Raider Review”, Montgomery Area High School’s closed-circuit weekly news program. Justin was also the technical director for Montgomery’s Virtuoso program.

Justin attended Clarion University of Pennsylvania in 2010 and 2011, joining the college operated WCUC-FM. Justin became a member of That Awesome Sports Show, a weekly sports talk show (which fellow Talk WilliamsportRadio Williamsport broadcaster Ian Catherine was on as well), while also co-hosting a late night rap show as “that country guy” on Friday nights and DJ’ing The Country Connection on Sunday afternoons. In the Fall of 2010, Justin was named the Assistant Production Manager at WCUC, and made a non-voting member of the station’s Board of Directors. In the Spring of 2011, Justin was promoted to Production Manager, and became a voting member of the station’s Board of Directors.

After leaving CUP in the summer of 2011, Justin began his professional radio career at Max Media of Pennsylvania in Selinsgrove, producing local and network broadcasts for country station B98.3, top-40 station Y106.5, and ESPN Radio Selinsgrove while assisting with some of the on-air operations of the radio group.

Since joining Williamsport’s News Talk WEJS, Justin has become the Operations Director, which has him overseeing the day-to-day broadcast operations of the stations, while continuing to produce the local broadcasts you hear on Williamsport;s News Talk WEJS and talkwilliamsport.com, appearing on the Talk Williamsport’s Locker Room Show with Ian Catherine, showing up on the occasional game broadcast, and covering the Little League World Series.

In addition to working with Williamsport’s News Talk WEJS, Justin continues to work with BLAST Entertainment, a live sound and lighting production company, which he has been a part of since 2009. This allows him to maintain his connection to live music and theater that goes back to his days at Montgomery.
