Alastre Shines In Cutters Loss

Cutters outfielder Jesus Alastre extended his hit-streak to 11 games with an RBI single in the 5th inning, but the Cutters were unable to complete the three-game sweep of the West Virginia, falling 6-4 at BB&T Ballpark.

Chandler Hall went 2-for-2 with a double, and reached base all four times while scoring three of the Cutters four runs. Jesus Alastre finished the night 1-for-3 with a pair of RBI, giving him 11 RBI on the season. Arquimedes Gamboa picked up a 2-run double, giving him his 11th RBI of the season.

Felix Paulino allowed four runs, one earned, on six hits over six innings of work. The right-hander sufered his third loss of the season, falling to 0-3 in six starts.

Jon Hennigan and Tyler Hallead combined to toss two perfect innings of relief. Hennigan collected a pair of strikeouts in the 8th inning, while Hallead used his defense for all three outs in the top of the 9th.

Brett Barbier had his 8-game hitting streak snapped with a 0-for-4 performance.
