Brett Barbier powered the Crosscutters 3-2 over the West Virginia Black Bears with his first professional home run, that came in the bottom of third. Cole Irvin earned his first professional win in relief as the Cutters improved to 12-2 at BB&T Ballpark this season.
Barbier’s home run traveled an estimated 409 feet over the centerfield wall, giving Williamsport a 3-0 lead in the 3rd. David Martinelli extended his league high hit streak to 13 games with a single in the first inning. Chandler Hall collected his 1st RBI of the season and Juan Luis picked up his 9th RBI in the win as well.
Cole Irvin earned his first professional win, tossing four shutout innings of relief and striking out a pair. Will Hibbs recorded his 2nd save of the season, closing it out in the 9th inning.
Williamsport improves to 12-2 at BB&T Ballpark this season as well as 12-3 against the Pinckney division, despite going 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position.
