Lauren Healy has been named Head Coach of the Penn College women’s basketball program.

Healy most recently spent five seasons as an assistant coach with Gettysburg’s women’s basketball program.

With Healy on staff, Gettysburg has logged a record of 65-39 over the last four seasons. The Bullets have gone 42-30 in conference play and they have reached the semifinals of the Centennial Conference Tournament in two of the last three campaigns. Healy has a well-rounded collegiate playing background. She was a four-year starter for both of her undergraduate institutions, averaging 8.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists over 110 games. In 2005-06, she helped Gwynedd-Mercy finish 25-4 overall, win the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference with a perfect regular-season record (16-0), and advance to the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Healy is a native of Glenmoore, Pa. She attended Owen J. Roberts High School in Pottstown, Pa., where she played basketball, cross country, and track and field.
