Head Coach Shawn Finn, after 16 seasons at the helm of the South Williamsport baseball program, announced on his Facebook page that he was removed as the Head Coach of the Mounties.

In an except from his Facebook post announcing the move, Coach Finn says “I was ‘let go’ as head baseball coach at South Williamsport. I have coached here for 22 years , 16 as head coach . I was told the Athletic Committee wanted to go a different route with the baseball position.”

Finn continues, “Apparently, my old school coaching style is the issue of concern …  I have volunteered thousands of hours coaching that I don’t get paid for. I could go on and on but I won’t. To those of you I have coached , I thank you! To those of you who have supported me, I thank you ! … I will take this one as another life lesson and I will stand tall and feel proud of all my accomplishments at the end of the day . You can’t take that from me.”

With this firing, South Williamsport becomes the third school in Lycoming County now looking for a new head baseball coach, joining Loyalsock Township and Hughesville following the resignations of Jeremy Eck and Casey Waller.
