BREAKING NEWS: Williamsport City Council adopts Declarations of Disaster and Extends Ban on gatherings of 50 or more people

Thursday afternoon the Williamsport City Council held a special meeting to adopt “Declarations of Disaster” following the same move made by the Lycoming County Commissioners yesterday.

The resolution began March 6, 2020 and ends when PEMA declares an end to the COVID-19 crisis.

The motion passed 7-0 to adopt the resolution.

Williamsport City Council extended the public restrictions previously ordered by Mayor Slaughter of gatherings of 50 or more people.

The ban does not apply to schools and is extended through Thursday, April 2, 2020 at midnight.

The motion passed 7-0 to adopt the resolution.

The Williamsport City Council also cancelled the regularly scheduled meeting for Thursday, March 19, 2020.

The next regularly scheduled Williamsport City Council meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 2, 2020 at 7:30 p.m.
