(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University athletics department is excited to announce a partnership with Fox SportsWilliamsport.com to broadcast the Tartans five home football games in 2016 along with the 2016-2017 men’s and women’s basketball home contests over the internet.

“We are excited to partner with Talk Williamsport to provide high-quality broadcasts for our football and basketball games,” said Director of Athletics Josh Centor. “We expect that this collaboration will allow us to share our student-athletes’ achievements with a broader cross-section of the Carnegie Mellon community.”

Talk Williamsport is home to numerous NCAA member colleges and universities in four states, and serves as the flagship station and online platform for multiple professional sports teams.

“The prestigious name of Carnegie Mellon University was enough to get my attention when the opportunity to serve Tartans athletics presented itself.” “To be able to partner with a University of this stature not only in Pennsylvania but globally is truly humbling for our organization,” said Talk Williamsport owner and General Manager Todd Bartley.

Bartley also announced that Brian Collins will serve as the voice of the Tartans beginning with coverage on September 3 when the Cardinal and Gray football team host the Bears of Washington University at 12:00 p.m. on the turf at Gesling Stadium.

Brian Collins proudly accepts and looks forward to calling Carnegie Mellon Tartan Football games. “Just the absolute tradition of this prestigious school and the rich history has me excited and privileged to be a part of it this fall,” said Collins. “Then, of course, the excitement of Tartan football doesn’t hurt either.”

Collins brings nearly 20 years of experience broadcasting multiple sports at every collegiate level all over the country. He began his broadcast career while at Malone University where he earned his B.A. in Communications. Broadcasting on both television and radio in Stark and Summit counties, Collins was able to call football, basketball and baseball games for several stations in northeast Ohio.

He has added coaching accolades in basketball at Kingsway Christian School and served as head coach of The Ohio State University at Mansfield women’s basketball team. Some highlights from those years were winning conference championships and defeating Ohio Christian University the year they were national champions.

Besides his personal passion of sports, Collins’ biggest passion is family. He is the proud father of Jason, a freshman at Wittenberg University, husband to his wife Melissa and son of Bob and Jeanene Collins.

The Carnegie Mellon football and basketball webcasts will carry the audio feed from Fox SportsWilliamsport.com. Additionally, an audio only link will stream online through www.talkwilliamsport.com and at http://athletics.cmu.edu allowing fans and alumni throughout the world access to the broadcasts.
