Williamsport, PA – In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the social distancing measures encouraged by federal, state, county, and municipal leaders, Williamsport City Council will hold their regular meeting on April 2nd, 2020 remotely rather than in person at Trade and Transit Centre.
City Council will leverage the virtual meeting platform Zoom, which allows collaboration of groups remotely via video conferencing and dial in technology. The public will be able to watch the council session live through streaming capabilities. Access to the live meeting can be found at the following locations:
• City of Williamsport Website: www.cityofwilliamsport.org
• YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQVfG0Xy_b0QFolAvb_ZxaA
As with all in person City Council meetings, public comment is available and welcomed in this virtual format.
There are two times available during every City Council meeting – Limited Courtesy of the Floor at the beginning of every meeting, and Comments from the Public at the end of every meeting. The procedures for the public to leverage these opportunities to engage City Council during these upcoming virtual meetings are as follows:
• Limited Courtesy of the Floor: members of the public can request limited courtesy of the floor by requesting time to the City Clerk by 3pm the day before a regularly scheduled council meeting. Requests can be sent via email at cityclerk@cityofwilliamsport.org, must include a contact phone number, and are limited to an item listed on the agenda. For remote meetings, the Office of Information Technology will call the requestor via phone to speak at their scheduled time.
• Comments from the Public: members of the public can speak on any issue facing the city at the end of the meetings following comments from City Council members and members of the Administration.
Any member of the public wishing to speak at the end of City Council’s virtual meetings can call into the following number – (570) 329-3314.
Calls will be managed by the Office of Information Technology, and will be answered in the order that members of the public call in. Comments by the public are limited to 3 minutes.
All future meetings will continue to be held remotely until current social distancing measures are not needed, at which time all meetings will be held in person at Trade and Transit Centre.
If you have any questions, please contact Council President Randy Allison by email at rjallison1@comcast.net or by phone at (570) 419-7788.
