Talk WilliamsportRadio Williamsport becomes Pittsburgh Pirates affiliate

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Talk WilliamsportRadio Williamsport has agreed to become an affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates Radio Network beginning with the 2015 season.

Talk WilliamsportRadio can be heard on Williamsport affiliates 1050 AM, 92.7 and 104.1 FM, and in Jersey Shore on 1600 AM. Pirates games that conflict with Crosscutters game can be heard on Talk Williamsport1600.

“With the recent success of the Pirates, local fans have expressed interest in listening to the games on local radio.” According to longtime Talk WilliamsportRadio Williamsport General Manager Todd Bartley.

The connections to the current Pirates roster and Williamsport run deep with Manager Clint Hurdle who was the manager of the Williamsport Bills in 1991. Current Pirates pitching coach, Ray Searage, was the Crosscutters pitching coach in 2003 and 2004.

Plus former Crosscutters Andrew McCutcheon, Neil Walker, Vance Worley on the major league roster and Sebastian Valle, former Williamsport Crosscutter (2009), was signed to a minor league contract by the Pirates in November of 2014.

The Neil Huntington Show will air one hour prior to each Sunday game broadcast. Coverage begins with spring training games in March.

Bartley added, “This is a very unique opportunity for our stations to bring this caliber of baseball to local fans while continuing to cover the local teams at a very high level. For baseball fans it is most definitely a win-win!”

The commitment to baseball has never been larger with coverage of local high school and college teams being unmatched in the Susquehanna Valley with all nine Lycoming County School districts calling Talk WilliamsportRadio Williamsport their broadcast home. The only professional team in Williamsport also calls Talk WilliamsportRadio Williamsport its flagship as the Williamsport Crosscutters are broadcast each summer.

Each August, Talk WilliamsportRadio Williamsport provides in-game score updates from the Little League World Series. Each night of the series, Little League World Series Nightly is broadcast as a wrap-up show to all of the games of the day including highlights from each game courtesy of the Talk Williamsportbroadcasts. The show also features player and coaches interviews.

Talk WilliamsportRadio Williamsport is also home to MLB on Talk WilliamsportRadio including Sunday Night Baseball plus each game of the postseason including the World Series.

Talk WilliamsportRadio Williamsport originates the locally produced Locker Room Show Monday through Friday from 4 – 5 p.m. with various local hosts. Pirates Radio and Television personalities will become regular guests on the shows.

The Jed Donahue Show is also syndicated to affiliates all over the state of Pennsylvania by Talk WilliamsportRadio Williamsport. The Jed Donahue Show airs Monday through Friday from 5 – 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. – Noon.
