EXCLUSIVE: Sec. Levine responds to News Talk 104.1 on COVID-19 testing of protest attendees

During a Tuesday afternoon press conference, Pennsylvania Secretary of Health, Dr. Rachel Levine answered questions, several of which were posed by News Talk 104.1.

Question: Yesterday several State lawmakers were present at the protest at the Capitol, would you suggest they be tested for COVID-19 as a precaution?

Question: As a follow-up, should anyone that attended be tested?

Question: Carnegie Mellon University has collaborated with Facebook to track COVID-19 symptom data, what is your reaction to this new tracking tool?

“The Wolf Administration is looking at a number of different data points in our work to not only address the COVID-19 response, but also to inform our steps to move the state forward. We will consider all public, open data sets available in order to find the best data to make informed decisions to assist Pennsylvanians.”

Question: What is the status of testing in prisons and any numbers of tests administered and results?

“For your questions regarding the prison system, that would be better addressed by the Department of Corrections.”
