Falter’s Career Night Sparks Cutters

Crosscutters starting pitcher Bailey Falter continued his brilliant month of July, posting a career-high 10 strike outs of six scoreless innings of work against the Batvavia Muckdogs. Falter took a no-decision as they Cutters plated the go-ahead run on a wild pitch in the top of the 10th.

Falter, allowed just three hits and surrendered his first walk in four starts while piling up his 10 strikeouts over six scoreless frames. Scott Harris followed with 1.2 innings of scoreless relief, allowing one hit and striking out one. Will Hibbs earned his first professional win, tossing 2.1 innings of perfect relief, striking out three in the process.

Mark Laird was the only Cutters batter to pick up a multi-hit game, going 2-for-4 in the win. David Martinelli had his 14-game hit streak snapped with a 0-for-4 and Gregori Rivero had his 9-game hit-streak come to an end with a 0-for-3.

The Cutters improve to 7-0 against the Batavia Muckdogs this season. This was the Cutters first game in Batavia in 2016, they will play the Muckdogs five more times in Batavia this season.
