WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – A pair of double-doubles in wins over regional rivals has helped Lycoming College junior Kayla Kline (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg) earn her second MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week award of the season, the conference office in Annville, Pa., announced on Monday, Jan. 7.
Kline averaged 16.0 points, 10.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists to lead Lycoming to wins over Juniata and King’s. She notched 15 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and two steals in a 69-66 win over Juniata and followed that with 17 points, 11 rebounds and two assists in a 77-55 win over King’s. She hit 14-of-27 from the field and all three free throws.
The 5-8 guard/forward is seventh in the conference in scoring (14.5), fourth in rebounding (9.0), fifth in field goal percentage (.472), sixth in free throw percentage (.805) and seventh in assists (3.2) .
Kline’s award is the third of the season, as she also earned the conference’s player of the week award on Dec. 17 and sophomore Erica Lutz (Bernville, Pa./Hamburg) took the award on Nov. 26.
The Warriors get back on the court on Wednesday, Jan. 9, when they head back into MAC Commonwealth play by facing Alvernia University at 4 p.m. in Lamade Gym.
