Little League International Maintains May 11 COVID-19 Guidance

In light of the announcement last night of federal social distancing guidelines and COVID-19 mitigation efforts being extended to April 30, 2020, News Talk 104.1 reached out to Little League International to inquire if that changed the current guidance on a May 11, 2020 season start.

Kevin Fountain, Director of Media Relations provided the following:

“At this time, no change to the May 11 guidance has been made. We will continue to monitor the progression of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) outbreak both in the United States and around the world and rely on the guidance set forth by the World Health OrganizationCenters for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as federal, state, and local authorities, in order for us to share the best guidance to our local league volunteers.”

At this time the Little League World Series is still scheduled for August 20 – 30 in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
