News Talk 104.1 to broadcast Lycoming County Commissioners meetings

During a Monday afternoon broadcast on News Talk 104.1 & 1600 WEJS General Manager Todd Bartley announced with Lycoming County Commissioner Scott Metzger as a guest on the program the Tuesday Work Session and Thursday Public Meetings will be broadcast on the stations as well as online audio on talkwilliamsport.com.

Both meetings will air at 10 a.m. on the days noted above.

Friday afternoon the Lycoming County Commissioners announced they will move their Work Session and Public Meetings to an online broadcast platform.

Due to the current COVID-19 crisis and its associated risks, the Lycoming County Board of Commissioners will be conducting the regularly scheduled Commissioner’s Work Session on Tuesdays and the Commissioner’s Public Meeting on Thursdays in a Virtual format.

Both meetings are scheduled for 10 a.m. each Tuesday and Thursday.

Members of the public are highly encouraged NOT TO ATTEND these meetings in person as to limit the size of the meetings to less than ten people as per Federal and State guidance to help slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus.  County Staff that are working remotely will join by conference call to brief their respective action items and or participate.

County Staff and Members of the public may utilize www.Lyco.org to access: the “Commissioner’s Meeting” that is live-streamed on YouTube, Meeting Agendas, and to provide Public Comment and ask Questions. Additionally, Members of the public may sign in to the YouTube video to provide public comment on agenda items only at the beginning and general public comments at the end of the meeting.

While this may not be the optimal solution, this necessary action is in the interest of the safety our residents and employees alike.

We will continue to expand and improve our capabilities to receive public comment and interact with our staff and Members of the public in this temporarily required virtual environment. Thank you for your patience as we navigate this COVID-19 crisis together.  The prudently responsible actions that we take and the positive attitude with which we face these challenging times ahead will define our success.
