Chris Masse

Chris Masse, a.k.a. “The Doc”, is one of the Williamsport area’s most well known and sometimes respected sports writers, and lends his voice and knowledge to Talk WilliamsportRadio Williamsport, co-hosting the Locker Room Show on Tuesday’s with Mark Mussina, and in September of 2015, began hosting his own edition of the Locker Room Show on Friday’s.

“The Doc”  started at The Williamsport Sun-Gazette in 1999, just 11 days after graduating with honors from Penn State University where he earned a degree in journalism. During his time at the Sun-Gazette, Chris has covered a variety of high school, collegiate and youth sports. He has covered The Little League World Series over 15 times and has won seven Keystone Press Awards, along with 3 Associated Press Managing Editors Awards for excellence in sportswriting. He also has been part of a sports staff that has been named one of the country’s top 10 for four straight years. Chris especially enjoys covering high school sports where students seem to play more for the love of the game than anything else.

Chris played five sports (cross country, football, basketball, baseball and track and field) during his high school days at Garnet Valley. In 1994, he played center field for the only District 1 baseball championship team in school history and also was a member of a district medalist 4×100 relay team in track.

Chris is happily married and has a lovely 7-year-old daughter. They are the loves of Chris’s life and to borrow a line from Lou Gehrig, he considers himself the luckiest man alive to be able to share his life with his two favorite girls.
