Rich Zalonis

A long time coach and mentor in the region joined Fox SportsWilliamsport this September. Rich Zalonis currently teaches at South Williamsport Area High School.

Zalonis began his playing career as a Mountaineer at South Williamsport Area High School then moved onto Lock Haven University.

After graduating college, he began his coaching career at Loyalsock Township in 1985, then South Williamsport in 1986 moving onto Troy Area High School from 1987-1989 as the Offensive Coordinator.

In 1990 Zalonis became the Head Coach at Troy Area High School.

A historic run began at South Williamsport from 1991 – 1994 where Zalonis served as Defensive Coordinator before becoming Head Coach from 1995-2000.  Playing for the PIAA-A State Title in 1993 and in 1997. Making the playoffs each year.

Zalonis has college experience as a Secondary Coach at Lycoming College from 2001-2006.
