In his role as General Manager of Williamsport’s News Talk WEJS and www.talkwilliamsport.com, Todd is responsible for all aspects of the daily operation of Williamsport’s News Talk WEJS. Todd brings a wealth of on-air, sales and management experience to Williamsport.
Since coming to Williamsport in May of 2007, Bartley has overseen the addition of an FM signal, re-launched a website, debuted a local sports talk call-in show, began an annual sports awards banquet “Night of Champions” and negotiated agreements for Talk Williamsport to serve as the play-by-play home of Lycoming College, Penn College, Mansfield University and Crosscutters baseball. Additionally, in-game updates from the Little League World Series each August. Previously, Talk Williamsport1050 served as the flagship for Lock Haven University football.
In 2008, Bartley called the Loyalsock AA Baseball and Softball Titles in the same day, later that year he called the Lycoming College Warriors return to the NCAA postseason and first MAC football Championship in 5 years.
Beginning his broadcast career in rural Ohio at WKLM, Todd learned the broadcasting operations side. Serving in various on-air roles in multiple Ohio markets he got his big break in 1997; being hired as an on-air sports anchor at WKNR-AM 1220. At the time WKNR was the flagship station of the Cleveland Indians. During his time at WKNR, Todd worked alongside current Talk WilliamsportRadio Sportscenter anchor Marc Kestecher.
In 1998, Todd assembled a group of investors and purchased a station that was off the air in southeast Ohio and in the course of less than 2 years in a sports format became the market leader in sports. In 2000, he again put a group together and moved to Kinston, North Carolina and served as the flagship station of the Kinston Indians. Many of the members of those teams are now in the major leagues (C.C. Sabathia, Victor Martinez and many more). In 2000, he called the NCHSAA 3A Boys Basketball at the Dean E. Smith Center in Chapel Hill North Carolina as Kinston High School lost in the state final. Over the course of three years he helped build a single station into a 4-station network of ESPN Radio stations. He also developed a regionally televised Game of the Week.
After leaving Kinston, Todd returned to Ohio and served as the General Sales Manager at WBBW in Youngstown and was fortunate enough to call Final Four girls basketball for the Salem Lady Quakers and the State Championship game involving Ursuline High School and former Penn State Women’s Basketball standout and current WNBA player Tyra Grant.
Bartley, also served for 5 years as the Television play-by-play voice for the OHSAA Girls Basketball Final Four. Todd is a fan of the Lancer Lunatics, Hughesville Big Bad Balcony, South Williamsport Blue Zoo, loves Lycoming County sports and is learning more about soccer every day; when not in the booth or seeing clients he lives in Williamsport with his wife Michelle and 2 children, his oldest son lives in Ohio with his mother.
