Prada Returns to Lead Cutters in 2014

The Philadelphia Phillies have announced that Nelson Prada will return to manage the Williamsport Crosscutters, the Phillies short-season class A affiliate, in 2014.

Prada led Williamsport to a record of 37-38 in 2013. Prior to joining the Phillies in 2013, he managed in the Minnesota Twins organization for 8 seasons. He has compiled an overall record of 473-456.

Joining Prada in the dugout will be pitching coach Aaron Fultz and hitting coach Shawn Williams who have both coached previously in Williamsport.

Fultz spent two years (2005-06) on the Phillies’ pitching staff and played on the National League champion San Francisco Giants in 2002.   He has a career record of 25-15 with a 4.26 ERA in 463 major league appearances. He was the Crosscutters pitching coach in 2012 and served as the pitching coach with the Lakewood BlueClaws (A) in 2013.

Williams, son of former Phillies coach and MLB manager Jimy Williams, returns for his second consecutive season in Williamsport. He spent 10 seasons playing professionally prior to beginning his coaching career last season with the Crosscutters.

The Cutters 2014 season opens on Friday, June 13 as Williamsport hosts the State College Spikes.
