During a Thursday afternoon press conference, Pennsylvania Secretary of Health, Dr. Rachel Levine answered questions, several of which were posed by News Talk 104.1.

The responses of Secretary of Health, Dr. Rachel Levine are available by clicking the audio links.

Question: Will your office be releasing any additional demographic information related to positive cases as other states are doing?

Question: Are you observing any particular segments of the population affected more by the virus than others?

Question: In the health care worker and nursing home positive cases has contact tracing occurred to find out how the virus was contracted?

Nate Wardle, Press Secretary for the Department of Health provided answers to additional questions asked by News Talk 104.1 & 1600 WEJS.

Question: In regard to the in-hospital and ICU cases, have you been made aware of how many of those cases are being treated with hydroxychloroquine or Z-pak?

The form of treatment for individuals who are in the hospital/ICU is not something that hospitals are reporting to us.

Question: In the north central part of the state the case count is now approaching 150 in a 10-county area with 1 death; what would you say to residents of those counties who may not be taking this situation seriously?

We need all parts of the state to take the direction from Dr. Levine and stay calm, stay home and stay safe. It is essential that all Pennsylvanians listen to this message and take steps to protect themselves. COVID-19 is a serious virus that has been deadly across the state. Even if someone themselves might not have significant symptoms, they could pass it on to a loved one who could become very sick, or worse, from the virus.

News Talk 104.1 & 1600 WEJS continues to be at the forefront of keeping Lycoming County citizens informed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
