Pennsylvania to date in the coronavirus pandemic has regularly cited other concerns being addressed as to why recovered patients are not being tracked.
News Talk 104.1 has been asking about recovered cases since the crisis began and all of the downstream benefits of that data, and antibody testing.
For the first time since the pandemic began the Williamsport Sun-Gazette posed a question to Secretary Levine submitted by a reader who inquired on this topic on April 30.
As Secretary Levine noted in her response, “we’ve talked about this.”
On Friday, Governor Wolf and Secretary Levine announced the reopening of 24 counties and other guidance for Pennsylvanians to use as the state moves from yellow to green mitigation efforts.
News Talk 104.1 asked Governor Wolf about tracking recovered cases and funding a program to do that.
Question: Gov. Wolf, what steps need to be taken to begin tracking recovered cases?
Question: Would you be willing to sign legislation that funded a program to do that?
On Friday, May 1, Nate Wardle, Department of Health Press Secretary, provided the following, “The Department of Health is continuing to look at options as to how we can track recovered cases, and will work to provide that data to the public when we can.”
