On Friday afternoon Williamsport Mayor Derek Slaughter announced additional proactive COVID-19 measures.
From the announcement: Streets and parks employees removed the rims on basketball courts and taped off playground equipment in city parks.
This is a temporary, proactive measure during the COVID-19 epidemic to help prevent the spread of the virus.
The rims will be put back up and the tape removed once the emergency is declared over.
