Sam Wilson made her sideline debut for Fox SportsWilliamsport.com during last night’s double overtime triller between Shamokin and Loyalsock.
The Lancers received two overtime touchdowns from Marcus Williams en route to a, 35-28, double overtime win.
“I loved it,” Wilson said. “I was my first time really being thrown out there and I thought it was awesome. I was pretty happy with my performance at the end.”
Moments after Loyalsock won its home opener against Shamokin, Wilson was there to interview head coach Justin Van Fleet.
The on-air interview lasted nearly five minutes with questions ranging from running back options to decisions over the final minutes of overtime.
“You always want the more exciting game, because it gives you more to write about and talk about,” Wilson said. “It definitely gave me more questions to ask at the end of the game.”
The play that most sticks out to Wilson was a 48-yard halfback option pass Shamokin used to tie the game as the clock expired.
“When Shamokin decided to pass out of nowhere at the end of the game,” Wilson said. “It was awesome to see the players run down the field at the end to tie the game.”
Wilson will continue to expand on her role throughout the fall season with Talk WilliamsportRadio Williamsport and Fox SportsWilliamsport.com.
