Congressman Keller thanks Trump administration for granting state waiver to CHIP

Waiver grant will allow for flexibility on policy renewal timing and grant coverage for COVID-19 testing and treatment, among other provisions

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Fred Keller (R-PA) on Tuesday thanked the Trump administration and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for granting Pennsylvania’s application for a COVID-19-related waiver for the Children’s Health Insurance Program—otherwise known as CHIP—that will allow flexibility on policy renewal timing, provide coverage for COVID-19 testing and treatment, and extend premium payment deadlines among other provisions.

More about the waiver can be found HERE.

On the waiver grant, Congressman Fred Keller (R-PA) made the following statement:

“I thank President Donald Trump and his administration for granting this important COVID-19-related waiver to the Children’s Health Insurance Program in Pennsylvania. The waiver will ensure caregivers of CHIP recipients have the flexibility they need during these difficult times to pay premiums, renew policies, and ensure the children under their care can receive the help they need for COVID-19 testing and treatment.

“Fighting COVID-19 is truly an all-of-government effort and the President and his administration have never wavered from that commitment.”
