Manny Martinez would retire the side in the 9th inning to complete the combined no-hitter for the Williamsport Crosscutters and seal an 8-0 win over the Mahoning Valley Scrappers on Sunday.

Yacksel Rios went five hitless innings with six strikeouts. Mark Meadors went three hitless innings with three strikeouts and Manny Martinez struck out the final batter of the game in his hitless inning of work.

It was the first Crosscutters no-hitter since Henry Cabrera & Olivo Astascio combined to no-hit Batavia on September 6, 2006.

Williamsport would get the scoring going in the bottom half of the 3rd inning when Gustavo Martinez scored on a double-play ball that was grounded into by Malquin Canelo to make it 1-0 Williamsport.

The Cutters would add on to their lead in the bottom half of the 4th inning when Samuel Hiciano ripped an RBI single to score Dylan Cozens from 3rd base to make it 2-0. For Hiciano, it was his 9th RBI in the last two games.

In the 5th inning Williamsport tacked on another run when Malquin Canelo scored on a ground ball out hit by Andrew Pullin. It was Pullin’s 16th RBI on the season to give the Cutters a 3-0 lead.

Williamsport would get to Guerrero in the 8th inning. Zach Green would single in Andrew Knapp to make it 4-0. Gustavo Martinez followed with a two-run single to plate Zach Green and Dylan Cozens to make it 6-0. Later in the inning, Sameul Hiciano would score on an error by the Guerrero to make it 7-0. Malquin Canelo would cap the scoring with a sacrifice fly to centerfield to plate Gustavo Martinez and make it 8-0.
