Penn College sports teams close out semester


In their final outings of the fall semester, the Pennsylvania College of Technology wrestling team split in two matches while the men’s basketball team dropped its only game.




Last Sunday, Penn College lost to Ursinus, 43-6, before defeating SUNY Sullivan, 42-10, to go to 2-4 on the season. Mason Replogle, of New Enterprise, won both of his matches in the 149-pound weight class with an injury default against Ursinus and pin against Sullivan. Also against Sullivan, Connor Route, of Canton, won by fall at 184 and five other Wildcats picked up forfeit victories.


Men’s basketball


Facing Lycoming College last Sunday in the Crosstown Challenge, the Wildcats lost, 90-72, to end the semester with a 2-6 record. Penn College played the Warriors tough during the first half as they trailed by four at the intermission, but Lycoming went on a 22-1 run to open the second half and put the game away. Marquis Delgado, of Mansfield, led Penn College with 19 points while Kevin Laurence-El, of Milton, scored 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and Thomas Ross, of Williamsport, scored 12 points. Lycoming scored 31 points off 26 Penn College turnovers and its bench outscored the Wildcats, 57-16.
