Penn College women push NEAC soccer win streak to 4
Not only did the Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s soccer team boast a 2-1 week, but it extended its North Eastern Athletic Conference win streak to four matches, its most since 2017.

Women’s soccer
Hosting Susquehanna University Tuesday in nonconference play, Penn College lost, 3-0. Susquehanna led in shots 27-6 (11-6) and in corner kicks 3-1.
Dominique Brown of Benton had a hat trick and Kaelan Cronan of Leesport scored twice Saturday in a 5-3 Penn College NEAC win at SUNY Poly. Cronan scored the match’s first goal unassisted and got the second on an assist from Francesca Timpone of Smithtown, New York, both in the first four minutes. Brown got into the scoring act with an unassisted goal in the 12th minute, tallied her second on an assist from Morgan Brooks of Bellefonte and added her third goal with an assist from Cronan. Penn College led in shots 20-17 (10-7 on goal) and in corner kicks 5-3.
At SUNY Cobleskill Sunday, the Wildcats earned their fourth straight conference win with a 5-2 victory that leveled their overall record at 6-6-1 and improved them to 5-2 in the NEAC and into fourth place, their highest position this season. One day earlier Penn College had a four-goal first half in its win and against Cobleskill it had a four-goal second half. Cronan put the Wildcats on the scoreboard 15 minutes into the match with a solo shot and, after the home team tallied its lone goal, she gave Penn College the lead for good with a header off a corner kick on an assist from Tiffany Brown of Mechanicsburg. Also scoring for the Wildcats were Abby Williams of Mechanicsburg on a penalty kick, Brooks on an assist from Dominique Brown and Adeline Gesford of Hummelstown on an assist from Miya Roman of Benton. Penn College led in shots 33-9 (16-3 on goal) and in corner kicks 7-2. Taylor Gonzales of Lititz and Charlee Marshall of Snow Shoe split time in goal, each making one save.
The four consecutive NEAC wins is the most since 2017 when Penn College won six in a row and finished second in the conference.

Statistically speaking in the NEAC top 5: Dominique Brown is fifth with nine goals, tied for fourth with five assists and fifth with 23 points. Gonzales is fifth with 75 saves.
Men’s soccer
In nonconference action Tuesday at Juniata, the Wildcats lost, 2-1. The home team led 2-0 before Greg Conkle of Carlisle put Penn College on the scoreboard on an assist from Colton Wartman of Ellicott City, Maryland. Juniata led in shots 18-6 (7-2 on goal) and in corner kicks 1-0.
At NEAC unbeaten SUNY Poly Saturday, Penn College lost, 3-0. Poly led in shots 9-4, although each team had three shots on goal. Penn College led in corner kicks 6-5.
Sunday at SUNY Cobleskill, the Wildcat lost, 2-0, to fall to 1-10-2 overall and 1-4-2 in the conference. Cobleskill led in shots 18-15 (7-4 on goal) while Penn College led in corner kicks 9-5.
Also, goalie Braeden Eckard of Danville was named NEAC Defensive Player of the Week after he allowed one goal in 155 minutes of action while posting a 0-0-1 record for the period of Sept. 30-Oct. 6. The freshman did not allow a goal in 45 minutes of action against King’s in a 1-0 loss and in a double-overtime tie against Lancaster Bible College, Eckard made 10 stops and allowed just one goal.

Women’s volleyball
Saturday in a NEAC road triangular, the Wildcats lost to Morrisville State College, 3-0 (25-11, 25-9-25,16), and to Cazenovia College, 3-1 (20-25, 25-19, 25-12, 25-18), to fall to 1-17 overall and 0-6 in the conference.
In the first match, Morrisville led in points 57-12, kills 38-10, aces 16-1, blocks 3-1, assists 37-9 and digs 39-29. Individually for Penn College, Coryn Oswald of Langhorne had three kills, Mackenzie Mahler of Quakertown had eight assists and Hannah Burnett of Middlebury Center had nine digs.
In the second match, Cazenovia led in points 47-37, kills 29-24 and aces 11-6. The Wildcats led in assists 24-1 and digs 45-44. Leaders for Penn College were Oswald with eight kills, Emalie Marnati of Canton with two aces and four blocks, Mahler with 22 assists and Marnati and Peyton Homan of Spring Mills each with 10 digs.

Golf
Tuesday in the Gettysburg College Fall Invitational at Hanover Country Club, Penn College finished fifth among 13 teams with a 317 score. Gettysburg took top team honors with a 304. Individually for the Wildcats, Alex Acree of Brookville tied for eighth in a field of 63 with a 76, five strokes off the winning score. Also for Penn College, Austin Moscariello of New Columbia tied for 19th with a 79, Jordan Wise of McClure tied for 23rd with an 80, Sean McNamara of Lancaster tied for 30th with an 82 and Kohltin Bartlow of Montgomery tied for 44th with an 86.
Men’s cross-country
Saturday at the DeSales Invitational, the Penn College men finished sixth in a 16-team field. Matt Leiby of Danville led the Wildcats with a 34th-place finish in a field of 168 with a time of 28:09.8 over an 8K course. Also for Penn College, Jonah Isaacson of Muncy was 38th, Chris Hogan of Halifax was 67th, Jake Mashack of Bloomsburg tied for 74th and Dean Fulton of Palmyra was 81st.
The Wildcat women did not compete.
Women’s tennis
In an 8-1 loss to Lycoming College Monday, the lone Penn College victor was and No. 3 doubles team of Marcie Harman of Nescopeck and Deidre Satterly of Shippensburg. The loss dropped the Wildcats to 1-3.
Men’s tennis
Friday against Lycoming College, the Wildcats lost 6-3 to fall to 1-3. Winning in both singles and doubles for Penn College was Tucker Phillippe-Johansson of Mattituck, New York, at No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles with Joe Morrin of Morrisville.
